Softklub began the writing process of their upcoming debut album ‘Wasteling’ in the spring of 2020. Over the next 4 years, the band would write and refine over 50 songs that would help to hone in their sound. The initial goal of the project was to challenge unexplored avenues of their creativity, but quickly snowballed into something bigger than expected.
Once a unified voice had emerged, the duo noticed that this exercise in exploration had help them find a new sound that neither had set out to create. They began pre-production in the spring of 2024 and started recording 13 tracks in the summer of the same year.
Over the past 6 months the band has consulted with several PR companies and carefully crafted a 52 week release strategy for the album. Hopeful for their future, the band will continue to focus on creating strong personal and professional connections to work along side, as well as consistently finding new ways for their voices to be heard.
Sonically the band is a gentle mix of indie rock and dance music, blended together with sappy introspective lyrics and a touch of drum and bass. Pulling additional inspiration from an extremely wide gamut of artists, Softklub has managed to find their unique sound and is set to pave their own way through the music industry.
